I offer both programming and Skype visits for schools and libraries. As a former teen librarian, the opportunity to connect and work with young readers is something I love and look forward to continuing. Find my current offerings below. All inquiries for speaking or presenting may be directed to kelly@stackedbooks.org.

Here We Are: Tell Your Story! Creative Non-Fiction for Teen Writers

This 90 minute program will encourage teen writers to think outside the box when it comes to the format and style possibilities in their own writing. While the focus is on non-fiction, many of the things we’ll brainstorm and talk about are applicable to fiction and would make an excellent lead-in to NaNoWriMo in November. The program is interactive and engaging, though the format allows quieter teens to enjoy without the pressure of having to share — though in my experience, even the more reserved teens love jumping in on this. There is a good chunk of time built into this event for teens to write and attendees will learn about places where they can publish their work.

Fee: $100 for libraries and schools within 75 miles of Crystal Lake, IL. For locations outside that radius, negotiable.
