Kelly is a 500 hour registered yoga teacher and has been teaching in studios, community centers, libraries, and virtually since 2017. She earned her initial 200 hour certification through her local yoga studio, then she continued on to a 300 hour program through Wild Abundant Life (WAL). The WAL program changed not only her perspective on yoga, but on life more broadly.
As such, Kelly is passionate about yoga and sharing it far and wide. She is a bold, brave, and nurturing teacher, encouraging students to challenge themselves but to do so only through knowledge of self. Her teaching is socially just and rooted in yoga philosophy.
Kelly currently teaches a weekly class at Woodstock Yoga Lounge, as well as a monthly class at Grayslake Public Library. She periodically offers dog yoga through Young at Heart Senior Pet Adoptions, where she is an associate board member. Kelly has taught workshops on myofascial release and the power of breathwork–the former of which has been used as a component of psychoeducation in her mental health work as well.
As a fat yoga teacher, Kelly knows that we hold ourselves back from experience based on our perceptions of how others might judge us via our bodies. She hopes to instill in her students the power of showing up however you are and moving in whatever way feels good and empowering that day. She loves teaching new students of all ages and watching them find a mind-body-breath practice that works for them.
Curious about Kelly’s teachers? Some of her favorites include Amber Cook, Julianne Farrell, Megan Robertson, Matthew Kimmeth, Jon Uidl, and Cara Chang Mutart.
